Climbing the Golden Arches

“Climbing the Golden Arches”   This week we’re working on concluding paragraphs.  The conclusion is a chance to bring your ideas together and emphasize the key points in your essay. Post 1:  This post is due Thursday  8/27/2020 In paragraph 18 (the conclusion) of “Climbing the Golden Arches” (pp. 439-443 of The Norton Sampler), Nuñez’s recounts several important points drawn from earlier in the essay; specifically, she talks about what she has learned.  Choose one of the points she mentions and cite an early passage that supports her conclusion. What was your first job like?  Write a concluding paragraph that shares the key points of your experience and what you learned. Post 2: Respond to a peer’s comment on Nuñez’s story.  Did he/she establish a clear connection between a main point in the conclusion and a body paragraph in the story?  Also comment on your classmate’s paragraph about a first job.  Does it read like a concluding paragraph?  Why or why not?  If not, how could it be revised to be more clearly an ending paragraph? INSTRUCTIONS: Post an initial response to both parts of Post 1. Post a response to one of your peers. Post on two different days. Length: Post 1= 250 words minimum. Two paragraphs of 5- 7 sentences each. Post 2= 150 words minimum. Post your word count at the end of your post. Use quotations from the literature to support your points. This discussion closes Sunday at 11:59 p.m. ET.  No posts are accepted after that. Queens Public Access Television in Queens, NY

I would like to write about how I pursued my interest in becoming a Public Access TV Producer for Queens Public Access Television in Queens, NY. I want to speak of how I not only learned about the logistics of putting a television program together in the studio and on the field but learn about how to lead a production staff, time management, pre-production (storyboarding, putting together a production crew) and post production (editing and submitted completed program)  work and applying discipline and focus to get a TV program on the air but also learning, understanding and developing my skills and talent as a leader.

Board Peer

I need to response to her and ask these questions George’s audience would be his teacher named Mr. Smith, because  that is the person whom he is writing the message to. The purpose of his message to his teacher, is to reach out to him for help with a certain assignment.  The first thing that George could have done was,  be more specific on which assignment he was referring to when asking for help.  Another thing George could try changing would be the use of bold letters and all capital letters because this could make the teacher feel as if he is being demanding and yelling at him to get his point across.  He also  stated that no one could keep him from being successful in life, which is great, but that had nothing to do with the teacher personally.  The teacher is there to help so Georges approach seemed as if he were taking his frustrations out on Mr. Smith.  This would  definitely be a case of  including unnecessary information.  He could improve his tone by not using bold or all capital letters, for this may come off as being aggressive. .  If George makes these few adjustments that i stated , this will help the teacher understand his question better and help him with a more  precise resolution.  How might George better express his purpose (for example, is he missing information that should be included or did he include information that is unnecessary)? How might George better connect with his audience? How might George improve his tone? Are there grammar or spelling errors that George could fix?

World Literature Before 1660

This is a discussion of Week 2 (Ancient Lyrics). Choose A & B or C & D for your first post of at least a full, well-thought-out paragraph (3-4 sentences). Then, respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts with at least a strong 2-3 sentence response. A) The ancient Hebrews believed in a God they called Yahweh (Jehovah) with whom they had a relationship of faith and trust that He would come through from them in their troubles. What sort of troubles do these two psalms (prayer songs) indicate and why would they need God to “deliver” them from their circumstances? How would you feel if you were ever in either of these circumstances, and if you prayed to God: 1) you felt that your prayers were heard and answered, or 2) you felt that your prayers were not heard nor answered? How would you explain either of these to others? B) In these two Egyptian love lyrics, one is from the viewpoint of a young man who is in love with a young princess who is way out of his league, and the other is from the viewpoint of a young lady who is madly in love with a young man whose mother seems to be overprotective of him. Describe the story of their angst in at least two sentences for each lyric poem and how you feel their dilemmas were resolved. C) Sappho was a strong-minded widow or divorcee whom most scholars believe was a lesbian. In “Poem 1,” the speaker loved another woman but felt extremely rebuffed and without the love of her life. In “Poem 16,” she equates love to be more beautiful than armies of horsemen or infantry or battleships. Why do you believe that the speaker in these poems is most passionate; inconsolable because of her unrequited love; and tortured deep in her soul? Give textual evidence of this in at least two sentences for each lyric poem. D) Choose two of the three lyric poems by Catullus and describe each of them by using modern lyrics; that is, by finding songs that speak to the themes of these poems and that really get his ancient angst in the words of our modern-day lyricists (songwriters).

Poor Building Maintenance

The complaint may be about anything you wish (such as malfunctioning equipment, poor building maintenance, or disruptive noises from a nearby business). You can base your letter on a true experience, or you can make up all the details you need. Please note that a form letter or a template cannot be used in constructing your response to question 2. When a form letter or template is used, you are giving little to no thought to wording or formatting, and you are not actually creating your own complaint; you are simply filling in the blanks of someone else’s work.

Reduce Marijuana Consumption Among College Students

Please use the topic ” How to reduce marijuana consumption among college students” to write this paper. As part of this course, you will be required to complete a project in which you select a particular consumer-related topic and a) analyze it based on the content we cover in the course and b) propose a marketing strategy to address the issue/problem. The topic you identify should include a consumer (e.g., teenagers) and a product category / brand (e.g., e-cigarettes), as well as a marketing objective (e.g., how to reduce vaping). The first part the project includes your creative analysis of the basic consumer issues involved in the marketing topic you are addressing. Here is your opportunity to apply many of the concepts, models, and theories we discuss during the semester (e.g., knowledge and involvement, memory, attention and comprehension processes, affect, attitude formation, problem solving, behavioral changes, cultural and social influences, etc.). What are your suggestions for using these concepts to help marketers to study, understand, and explain the basic consumer behavior issues for the topic you identified? For example, if your topic is examining teenagers and e-cigarettes, and your marketing objective is to reduce teenage vaping, then you should examine e.g., what role knowledge and involvement play in teenagers’ decision to vape; what are their attention and comprehension likely to be like when processing anti-vaping information; how are teenagers’ attitudes towards vaping constructed; how do teenagers make the decision to vape; what roles do cultural and social influences play in teenagers’ decision to vape or not to vape, etc. Feel free to consult outside sources (e.g., online academic or business articles), but be sure to cite and reference these properly to avoid plagiarism. The second part of the project includes your creative suggestions for developing marketing strategies to achieve your marketing objective. These strategies might involve aspects of segmentation, targeting, and positioning; advertising, sales promotion, pricing, distribution, product features, branding, etc. These strategies should be based on the analyses of consumer issues identified in the first part. That is, given the consumer psychology topics you discussed in the first part, what strategies can marketers put in place to achieve the marketing objective (e.g., reduce teenage vaping)? The topic you choose should meet the following requirements: It should be a consumer behavior phenomenon related either to the acquisition, consumption, or disposal of a product or service. It can focus on increasing consumption (e.g., sell more Red Bull; reposition Adidas) or reducing consumption (e.g., of cigarettes, sugary Pepsi). It should have managerial or public policy relevance. That is, it should increase our understanding of an aspect of consumer behavior in ways that can benefit firms and/or consumers. The project write-up should but around 10 pages, double-spaced.
