You are going to engage in 3 acts of service toward other individuals this week, then write a short essay about it.  This assignment is worth 5 points. Good luck! learn by doing, and so for this assignment you will implement an interpersonal trait into your daily life by demonstrating it at least 3 times the week it is assigned, then you will write a short essay about your experiences. Each short essay should not be any longer than 1 page, describing how and when and to whom you demonstrated the trait toward.  This week you will practice service. Service is giving of your time, talents, or resources to better the life of another individual.  Those are the only instructions my teacher gave me. It’s due the 31st. I would like it on the 30th please 🙂

Select a cultural group. It can be your own group, or you may select from the following list: children, elderly, rich, poor, women, men, Blacks, Whites, Asians, Latinos, LGBT, heterosexual, persons with disabilities.   I choose WOMEN Answer the questions:     1.Based on your experiences with the media, with what frequency is your group represented? Do you think this group is over- or under-represented? Why? 2.What associations (stereotypes) are frequently made with this group? List at least 10. Are these associations generally positive, negative, or both? 3.Provide examples of specific media texts that either reinforce or challenge the associations you listed in question 2. Which column is longer? Why? 4. Write one paragraph (5-10 sentences) on the significance of Friend Tv Shows. What is its cultural significance in its historical context?

Identify two significant relationships, listing the type of relationship (friend, significant relationship, family member, etc.). For each of these relationships, identify three relationship-forming factors (appearance, similarity, complementarity, disclosure, etc.). Describe how these three factors helped you form that relationship. Using one of the relationships as an example, demonstrate the ten stages of interpersonal relationships. How do you use the strategies for managing dialectical tensions and relational repair (including forgiveness)? How do you use the strategies (or not) for repairing relational transgressions? Choose one of the clips/images from week 4 and answer the following question(s) about the one you choose. There is very little dialogue; yet, this is one of the most iconic and comedic scenes from this series. Why? Are there certain cues in this scene that align with comedy? How does Chronemics apply here? What about facial expressions? 1c: “V-J Day in Times Square” – is one of the most iconic photographs ever taken. This photo captures two people who just found out that World War II has ended. Although this isn’t a scene from a tv show or movie, one can still analyze the nonverbal cues. Social networks are often criticized in the media for their privacy settings. For this assignment, you are asked to examine the privacy policy of Facebook to determine the appropriate settings to use for your own profile. Don’t worry, you do not need a Facebook account to do this assignment.  This assignment doesn’t have a student template, so create a document from scratch. Imagine you working at a large PR firm. Your newest client is an electronic cigarette company. The client asks you to help improve public perception of its product, particularly among young adults. You feel that because the long-term health effects are unknown that it violates your ethical responsibility, although nothing the client asks you to do is illegal. Write a 500-750-word paper. Include the following:  From an ethical perspective, is the above campaign comparable to Bernays’s “Torches of Freedom” campaign or is one potentially more unethical? Why?
