Choose one of the clips/images from week 4 and answer the following question(s) about the one you choose. Please state which one you are answering: Moira (Schitts Creek clip) 1a: What nonverbal cues does she give and how does that help you interpret or analyze the scene. What about listening? Is she actively listening to the customer? What tells you whether she is or she isn’t? How does the concept of vocalics apply here? What about eye contact? Use concepts from the textbook. 1b: I Love Lucy – episode “Job Switching” is another example where nonverbal cues play an important piece in understanding the scene. There is very little dialogue; yet, this is one of the most iconic and comedic scenes from this series. Why? Are there certain cues in this scene that align with comedy? How does Chronemics apply here? What about facial expressions? 1c: “V-J Day in Times Square” – is one of the most iconic photographs ever taken. This photo captures two people who just found out that World War II has ended. Although this isn’t a scene from a tv show or movie, one can still analyze the nonverbal cues. Think about the concept of Kinesics or proxemics. Who do these concepts apply here? What can you gather from what you see in the photo? PLEASE ANSWER ALL OF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS 2.
