Choose ONE of the following three options and write an essay in response. Whether writing about the human “state of nature” or about the earth itself, Locke treats “nature” as something to mold, use, or transform. How does this premise or starting-point shape his argument about politics? What would happen to the rest of Locke’s argument if we reject his premise (as either Plato or Aquinas might recommend)? Plato teaches that true politics is the care or crafting of souls. What would Locke say in response? Why might this difference between the two thinkers be important? Assignment Overview & Purpose: You are going to be watching two 50 min. videos length, and writing a reflection that analyzes presidential action of Bush and Obama in order to assess the development of executive authority, and analyze constitutionality. I have provided you with multiple objectives, relative to this topic. You will select 1, from those provided, below, to write your response. The purpose of this assignment is two fold.  First, it provides you with resources that can be used for future independent research outside of the reading and writing methods–especially useful for those of you audio and visual learners.  Second, it gives you an inside look into two Presidential administrations that have been surrounded by bias and partisan media criticism and praise.  Now that you have a better understanding of executive authority it is time for you to apply what you have learned, as evidence, to analyze presidential power in relation to modern political debates of “constitutionality of action” from you own personal perspective. Formatting Requirements and Submission Instructions When writing your essay, respond to the prompt thoroughly, and completely. Essays must be a minimum of 2 pages in length, double spaced, 1 inch margins, 12 point font, and written in Times New Roman. Your response should be your own thoughts and analysis. After watching the movie(s) apply what you learned to defend your interpretation of Article II in relation to types, limitation, or necessary conditions presidential power by assessing if informal powers, outside of the constitution, exist; or if what is enumerated is what the president has executive authority to do.

The paper must be in regards to Texas. The paper must have a current events news article as at least one source. The current event must be on the topic of our most recent presidential election of Trump vs Biden, and why Texas voted the way it did. Mention the effect covid-19 had on the election as well, but in regards to Texas. Mention any other Texas related election news as well. The paper should be written in a very logical manner with facts, figures, quotes, or examples to back up any claims. Try not to be very partisan. Just report on the issue(s). 3 paragraph minimum, typed in MLA8th edition.

A dilemma is presented by the values of liberty and equality in regard to interest group activity. On one hand, individuals should have the liberty to organize themselves politically in order to express their views. On the other hand, there is a strong class bias in the politics of organized interests. How has the U. S. government sought to regulate group activity in order to balance these competing values? What else might government do to make politics less biased? What are the potential consequences- both good and bad- of the actions you suggest?

The idea of the paper is to determine how the Romans were able to build the Colosseum shading device that was hoisted over the stadium in the 70 AD. This shading device was called the Velarium, which was the Latin name given for the retractable, paneled, awning at the Roman Colosseum. Its purpose was to provide shade for the spectators who watched the gladiatorial games in the blistering sun and heat of Ancient Rome. So the direction of the paper must be an original research idea and solve a question about the construction and innovation of the Colosseum shading design which is called the Velarium. Please conduct rigorous research from a variety of sources such as internet, books etc. Footnotes: Whole paper must contain a minimum of 3 accurate footnotes from a physical book with the exact page number. Good profiles can only be built on the basis of extensive research designed to uncover examples of the individual’s past behavior. They reflect your analysis of the patterns in that behavior in relation to the elements of leadership style that form our analytic framework. Finally, the profiles must communicate your assessments in a clear and concise way that is guided by principles that come from the intelligence hghcommunity but are relevant to good writing in many contexts.Leadership profiles should bring together all aspects of an individual’s leadership style and draw implications from that overall assessment for trying to successfully engage or influence that leader. For American government and politics class:  explain the presidential candidate nominating the process for political parties, starting with how primaries and caucuses work all the way to the nominating conventions. Describe that entire process. and this will be handed on turnitin as well.
