Textbook – https://drive.google.com/file/d/146xtv5mSCSNAv950T3tWV2vsbb5RkaCc/view?usp=sharing **Copy of the textbook pdf** Adults and Critical Thinking How do you define critical thinking and what is your critical perspective? How does this impact your everyday life? Think back to a time when you were presented with something new and look to the abilities that critical thinkers possess posited by Ennis (1989) on page 223 of your textbook. What skills and abilities did you have at that time? Did you exhibit open-mindedness and consider the bigger picture? Did you seek options and use credible sources? Go through all the items on that list and tie your responses to each item with the example you are using. As a second part to the question, how do you or would you facilitate critical thinking and foster critical reflection? In what ways would or do you build a learning community within your context? Ennis (1989) posited that critical thinkers possess certain abilities that set them apart from those who do not exhibit critical thinking. These include: Assume a position or change it based on the evidence Remain relevant to the point Seek information and precision in the information sought Exhibit open-mindedness Consider the big picture Focus on the original problem Search for the reason Orderly consider complex components of problems Seek a clear statement of the problem Seek options Show sensitivity to others feelings and knowledge Use credible sources (PAGE 223) https://youtu.be/nkqBDUyNbIc- Critical Thinking video

The Gender Pay Gap
Students should use a minimum of eight sources; more than eight is also acceptable. Students are encouraged to use various types of sourcesfor instance, three books, three journal articles, one newspaper article, and one website. Most of the sources should come from the research portfolio, although students may include sources not included in the research portfolio. Any additional sources must be added to the works cited page. In addition, remember that each source cited should have a works cited entry, and each works cited entry should refer to a source cited in the paper. Therefore, if students cite ten different sources in the paper, they should have ten sources listed in the works cited. One helpful way to ensure that students do not overlook any cited sources is to keep a list as they write. Students can use this list to create the works cited page. Maintaining an accurate list of sources is especially important to finalize the draft. Sources may have been added or deleted from the paper during revisions, and those sources must be added or deleted from the works cited. 1) Why are women not getting paid equally to men? 2) Are women performances are weaker than men? 3) Does society think men are the major family providers and them must get paid higher than women? 4) Are women are not negotiating for a higher salary? 5) Are women getting discriminated by not getting paid equally as men?
