Thinking Like A Geologist
Readthe Article “Thinking Like a Geologist” and answer the following questions:1. Give two reasons why the people interviewed decided to follow careers in the geosciences.2. On the basis of the information in the articles and your own thoughts, identify three other reasons why a person might choose a career in the geosciences.3. On the basis of the information in the articles and your own thoughts, identify two reasons why a person might not choose a career in the geosciences
Geocentric Model
In Chapter 2 you learned about the old geocentric model of the universe and the development of the heliocentric model. For this assignment I would like you to answer the following questions.1. Write a paragraph describing the geocentric model of the solar system–include information about what evidence there is for it and what evidence there against it (i.e. the evidence that supports the heliocentric model).2. Write a paragraph describing the various contributions to the heliocentric model of the solar system by these astronomers: Nicolas Copernicus, Tycho Brahe, and Galileo Galilei. Each one had several contributions so be as detailed as possible.3. Write a paragraph describing Johannes Kepler’s contributions to the heliocentric model of the solar system–describe each of his three laws of planetary motion. For the 2nd & 3rd law provide some elaboration (for the 2nd law what is its implication for planetary motion and give an example of how is third law works with 1-2 planets in the solar system)4. Write a paragraph-Explain how Isaac Newton uses his laws of motion and the law of gravity to explain how planets orbit the sun in the heliocentric model (basically explain how a planet’s orbit works using these laws). I don’t necessarily want a repeat of what each law is, rather an explanation of how/why planets orbit the Sun using his laws of motion & law of gravity. Each answer should be about a paragraph in length. Make sure to answer the questions in your own words–I’m not looking for a word for word explanation from the book or the bullet points at the end of the chapter.

To get full credit for this Discussion Board, you must submit an initial post and respond to at least one classmate’s posting following the guidelines given below. After completing all three lessons, think about what topic or topics were the most difficult to comprehend and/or what concepts still require further clarification.Use this Discussion Board to clearly articulate what it is that you find confusing and/or to formulate specific questions you may have about the material. Please respond/comment to at least one classmate. You should either answer your classmate’s question or provide clarification on the topic with which your classmate is struggling.

Chemistry Dissertation
masters level dissertation in chemistry10,000 wordsvery complicated taskrequiring calculationsAqueous two-phase systems based on ethyl lactate is an innovative technique to separate biomolecules that combines the advantages of liquid-liquid extraction and hydrophilic biorenewable solvent. Due to the complexity of these systems, rigorous models based ontheory are not available. Therefore, the empirical equation given by Merchuk is usually used todescribe binodal curves. However, Merchuks equations provide a poor extrapolation ability. Therefore, the aim of this work is the analysis of other equations, comparing the modelsreported in the literature and proposing alternative equations to improve accuracy or to reducethe mathematical complexity. The research objectives of this project are:i) To compile a database containing experimental data of solubility of nine aqueousbiphasic systems based on ethyl lactate;ii) To select statistical criteria to be used for the selection of models;iii) To fit various empirical models to experimental data;iv) To analyse and compare the effectiveness of empirical models, allowing discussion ofthe advantages and disadvantages of each equation.MS Excel will be used as calculation tools.
