ENG 2002 World Literature
Question: In The Analects, Confucius suggests that studying tradition is essential. Moreover, Confucius declares that people fulfill their potential for the “good” by ordering their lives and society according to a hierarchy of duties. He teaches that just as individuals have a duty to respect and maintain the family hierarchy, they must honor and uphold the government hierarchy. Imagine that Creon is put on trial for causing Antigone’s suicide. Confucius is the judge who must decide the king’s fate. You are the prosecution. Present Confucius with two reasons that Creon is guilty. Write one paragraph about each reason. Now, imagine that you are Creon’s defense lawyer. Present Confucius with two reasons that Creon is not guilty. Write one paragraph about each reason. Finally, in one paragraph tell Confucius’ verdict, giving one reason justifying his decision.
Suicide
Think about your personal experiences related to the topic of suicide. Think about times, if any, that you have thought about suicide. Think about anyone you know who talked about suicide, attempted suicide, or actually committed suicide. Consider all these situations carefully in terms of what was helpful or not helpful. Think about how these personal experiences might affect you in the future when you meet a client who talks about suicide. Post any lessons you have learned from these personal reflections that could help in saving the life of a future client.
The Bourne Identity
You are going to watch the film that you chose from the list (located in the Collaborations tab) to analyze. Before you begin watching your movie, make sure that your movie is approved by the instructor via e-mail. The films were chosen for one reason; each film contains various psychological disorders. Provide some basic information about your film (e.g., title, year, director, cast, etc.). Briefly describe the films plot or basic storyline before delving into the body of the paper. Through watching the film and performing research you are going to answer the following questions: What psychological disorders were featured within the film?; What ways did the disorder effect the character and the persons around them?; How did the film treat the person(s) with the psychological disorder?; What are the symptoms of each disorder?; What are the ways in which the disorder can be treated?; What are your thoughts about these disorders after seeing the film and performing the research? You are going to need to watch the film (and for research purposes, it would probably be best to watch it more than once). Pay attention to details like dialogue, characteristics of the disorders, etc. Make notes because you will need to use examples from the film to justify the psychological disorders that you discovered within the movie. Remember, the film is your primary source, and the research is what you use to fulfill other requirements. Do not rely on memory to write the research paper. Watch the film! Requirements: The paper must be 5 pages in length (not including title page, abstract and reference page), double spaced and in 12pt Times New Roman font. Anything less than five (5) full pages in length will result in a 5-point loss to your grade. You must use three (3) secondary sources and one primary source (the film) in your analysis. Paper needs to be in APA format (include in-text citation), complete with headers, subheadings, title page, abstract and reference page. It also needs to be less than 30% matching other sources. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep deprivation is something that all students experience due to the amount of study/work that is expected to be completed. As you have read in the chapter, sleep deprivation is not good for our physiological or mental health. Would you be willing to sacrifice a good grade for getting a good eight hours of sleep? Why or why not? What will you benefit from most, the sleep or the good grade? References: White, S.K.C.J. N. (2017). Psychology. plus an outside source

Should they be used for decisions? What common ground exists among the trait theorists, the psychoanalytic approach and the neo-analytic theorists? Is personality measurable or are the theories we have covered so far in this course solely an expression of personal experiences? Which theory best matches your personal assumptions of personality?
