Overview Understanding the legal literature in sport provides application of law to the sport environment. As future managers, a better understanding of the law enables professionals to improve the workplace and participation environment, as well as minimize organizational liability. Instructions Select a case from week 1-2 text readings. Write a minimum FOUR page legal critique related to any legal issue in the sport environment. The goal of legal writing is to communicate information about the law clearly. The type of communication can affect the style of how the information is communicated. Legal professionals communicate with clients and other members of their legal team and profession through different forms of writing, such as client letters, legal memoranda, or e-mail. You are asked to prepare a short office memo that provides an explanation of how legal writing differs from academic writing. In this memo, you should also identify the main types of legal writing, including a brief description of the purpose of each type of writing. For this course, we will be using the Bluebook style for formatting and legal citation.
