Learning Solution

Final Project Create a Learning Solution Your challenge for this course is to design a case-based learning solution for non-learning leaders wanting to understand learning theory.· Intended Audience: any leader who wants to understand the role of learning in their organization and who does not have a background in learning theory or instructional design· Technology Level: the solution needs to have simple low-tech elements to it such that a leader without a computer could complete the course as easily as one with a computer.·  Demonstrates design theory and practice: the solution must not only cover content about learning theory and design but must demonstrate effective application of learning theory and practice.· Outcomes: the desired level of competency for your audience is that they “can justify learning solutions for the development of their people and their business.” You will need to break this down into more precise sub-components. Differences between how each person in class breaks down the outcomes will be part of what gives each person’s solution uniqueness.· Tools: MS Word and PowerPoint will be sufficient for most designs and deliverables but should not be considered to be the only tools that may be used. Termination

Q1, Q2, Q3 – 450 words ($7.5) Q1. Reflect on  Chapter 14: Project Closeout and Termination   Identify what you thought was the most important concept(s), method(s), the term(s), and/or any other thing that you felt was worthy of your understanding.   Also, provide a graduate-level response to each of the following questionsQ2. Why do so many projects end up terminated as a result of termination through starvation?  Discuss the role that ego, power, and politics in this form of termination. Q3. Why do “lessons learned” programs often fail to capture meaningful information that could help guide future projects?  ——————————————————————————————————————————————- Q4. Activity 13 in Separate document – 4 full pages(excluding references) ($20) Case Study 14.1—New Jersey Kills Hudson River Tunnel Project  This case illustrates the challenges in making an early termination decision.  Often, particularly in the case of public projects, there is a real difficulty in stopping a project once it has gotten “on the books.”  As a result, projects with huge cost overruns, like Boston’s “Big Dig” are allowed to continue almost indefinitely.  New Jersey Governor Chris Christie made a tough call in deciding to cancel the Hudson River Tunnel project because he was given a number of rosy projections that did not match the actual costs incurred to that date.  This is a great case to let students pick sides: should Christie have canceled the project or not? There are arguments to be made that the need was strong (although others could argue that the need was over-sold).  On the other hand, the history of the project to date and the uncertainty about future federal funding made it a real gamble, especially during a time of economic recession. Questions How would you respond to the argument that it is impossible to judge how successful a project like this one would have been unless you actually do it? Take a position, either pro or con, on Christie’s decision to kill the ARC. Develop arguments to support your point of view. In your opinion, how clearly must a large infrastructure project like ARC have determined its need, costs, and so forth before being approved?  If the criteria are too stringent, what is the implication for future projects of this type?  Would any ever be built? Firm Performance

Organizational culture is a pattern of shared norms, rules, values, and beliefs that guide the attitudes and behaviors of its employees. Observable culture refers to the components seen in an organization, such as dress, structures, behaviors, and artifacts. Unobservable culture consists of the components that lie beneath the surface, such as company values and assumptions. A keen understanding of the dynamics between culture, decision-maker personalities, and attainment of desirable organizational outcomes is necessary for contemporary business leaders. Part 1 Read carefully “Examining the Evidence: Organizational Culture and Firm Performance?” found in Chapter 14 of the Neck et al. textbook. For the discussion: Assess how and why leaders’ personalities and organizational culture affect firm performance? (make sure to base your assessment on scholarly and practitioner literature, not just your opinion)Evaluate best practices, as identified in the business literature, for decision-makers to leverage organizational culture for a competitive advantage For more information on Firm Performance read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=Firm+Performance&title=Special%3ASearch&go=Go&ns0=1
