Writing Assignment for Political Science

There are four questions, each are worth 10 points. Each answer should be 200-250 words. Relying on course material, answer each question as fully as possible.  Elaborate, write through your answers.  Demonstrate to me that you have a good understanding of the material.  That means you can’t just mention a term, define it and explain how you are applying it in the context of your answer.   Read “COVID-19 Reminds us that Government is not the Enemy”  (Links to an external site.)  (Susan Crawford, LA Times, March 14, 2020). Apply material from CH 5, (specifically political ideology) to make sense of the article.  (I’ve uploaded the article on the next page if it’s easier for you to access. Question from CH 6: Explain what is meant by the concentration of media.  In your opinion, does the concentration of media strengthen or weaken our democracy? Provide evidence from the chapter, videos, and readings to support your position. Explain how the electoral college works?  Discuss two (2) criticisms and (2) proposed reforms?  If it were up to you, how would you devise a system to elect the President of the US?  Why?  Be sure to answer each part of this question. In the context of COVID-19, how would you conduct both an inside game and an outside game (either for or against) universal health care in the US. (You don’t need to do any outside reading on how universal healthcare would work. I’m looking for how you would go about mobilizing the inside and outside games, not policy details. So it doesn’t matter what you argue (for or against), I just want to see you demonstrate you know what the inside and outside games are.
