Transnational Latina Feminism

This week’s readings analyze the historical formation of Latina feminisms, as well as the political and ideological elements that have shaped this movement not only in Latin America but also in the United States (Chicana and Black feminisms). In your post discuss what you consider are some of the most important events, methodologies, and ideologies that characterize the Latin American feminist struggle, including the role of the Encuentros as spaces in which women shared discourses, struggles and their activism. Also consider bringing into the discussion the theoretical/philosophical contributions of specific feminists as exposed by author Francesca Gargallo.
