Titration
The goal of your Signature Assignment is to show that you can compute properties of solutions and analyze and interpret data. You will create a PowerPoint presentation that shows the process of going through an acid/base titration like you would if you were in a physical lab. For the presentation: You will prepare a sample of an unknown concentration of acid to titrate using a known concentration of base. You will set-up a burette filled with a known concentration of base and use proper titration techniques to reach an end-point to the titration. You will then calculate the concentration of an acid on your own. For Part I: Create a PowerPoint presentation (minimum 6 slides) that covers the lab scenario above. Use graphics, diagrams, charts, tables and other visuals to illustrate your point and to make it more interactive. Your slides must be clear, concise, not too busy, and readable. For base, you must use NaOH, with your choice of concentration. Note: If you will use 50-mL burett for your procedure, you cannot use more than 50 mL of base for titration. You can use various acids for your titration: easy: HCl, HNO3, acetic acid, etc. challenging: H2SO4, H3PO4… Finish Week 7 Labster’s activities before starting with this assignment. Include your thoughts on why understanding acid/base titration is important to your future career, and how you will use this concept as you complete your degree. you can use text, visuals, video links, etc as a supporting material. Your presentation must consist of more than merely a series of bullet points to earn full credit. Use the Notes section for each slide to fully explain your answers. You must demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the titration concept and show complete and clear calculations with proper units and significant figures.
