Topic: In October of 2018 and March of 2019, the new Boeing 737 MAX plane suffered two crashes related to a software issue killing roughly 350 people. Aside from the tragic deaths and torn apart families, it had a major effect on the aviation industry, its suppliers, airlines, pilots, as well as shareholders. These tragedies sparked numerous law suits ranging from shareholders accusing Boeing of acting unethically putting profit over safety, settlements for bereaving families, pilots losing wages due to grounded planes, Boeing covering up the planes flaws, and many more lawsuits. This paper will delve into the business effect Boeings mistakes caused up and down its supply chain while also showcasing where legally and ethically Boeing went wrong, how this is being remedied, and how they are currently handling the pending investigations.
