Need help with my Writing question – Im studying for my class.
Truth and love share the same platform as both represents honesty and respect. Raising our hearts, mind and soul to the lord, abiding in his word, understanding Gods expectations also enables us to understand our own. This is a strong representation of believing in the parables, as loving God is truth. However, if we look at todays culture, I would have to say there is a large amount of mixed and confused as well as non-caring attitudes about truth and believing in something more than what is in front of us. The face of communication has changed forever, as everything starts and ends in communication. The lack of understanding in whats true seem more distanced as post truth, is in the front seat which puts a different face recognizing facts, truth and respect for one another. How are we to understand in society today, what to believe and trust in truth, when the direction is covered up with fake news and rhetoric? Gods expectation of us is to love, respect, trust one another in his name. Then Pilate said to him, So you are a king? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the worldto bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice. Pilate said to him, What is truth? After he had said this, he went back outside to the Jews and told them, I find no guilt in him. John 18:37-38
The reflection of truth is really a reflection of our selves, its the mirror we look at in the morning when we get up, its being transparent with self to the point of sharing with others, for example comedians like Kevin Hart and Chris Rock. Its listening to the democrat candidates for 2020 presidential election, wondering if what each candidate shares about themselves and their plan to protect and reinforce the infrastructure of the nation is true or is it post truth? Our desires are the driving force of the nation today, instead of the clarity which is the truth.
Mixed reactions followed Oxfords announcement of post-truth as its 2016 Word of the Year. Some want to confine the post-truth mindset to politics, arguing that it occurred mainly within the context of the 2016 American presidential race and infected only one side, generally the side opposite ones own. Others instinctively claim post-truth as a positive development, the means to forge ones own destiny free of the shackles of tradition, facts, and even logic. Murray Abdu
Post-truth has now blossomed into a Culture of Confusion. Confusion is embraced as a virtue and clarity shunned as a sin. The answers to lifes questions no longer need to correspond to reality. They need only cater to our desires. Murray Abdu The lines in many ways as it relates to todays culture are blurred between reflecting truth and the desire of post truth. Can we say or perhaps we hope the material provided in universities are the truth and not personal desires of post truth. Truth is helping those who cant help themselves. We learn in Ephesians 1 that before the foundation of the world, Gods love was initiating a relationship with people.
“We read in Ephesians 1:4, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.
“We often think about the love of God during Christmasand rightly so! It is a glorious truth that God loved the world by giving his Son for us (John 3:16). But in addition to learning about what God did, there are also lessons for what we should do. Those who believe in God should imitate the character of God, in this case, his love (Eph. 5:1ff; 1 John 4:7-8).” To stand in our truth, is to embrace who we are, loving thy self, enables us to love one another, saith the lord.
