Discuss evidence (i.e., research) that illustrates that this human mental trait, mental function, or mental ability is universal (possessed by all humans). Be sure to address why you think the trait is inherited. Discuss how this human mental trait, mental function, or mental ability likely evolved, including how it was adaptive in the natural environment. Explain ways in which this human mental trait, mental function, or mental ability may or may not be adaptive in the modern environment. Note any ethical issues that are involved with the evolutionary psychology viewpoint of this human mental trait, mental function, or mental ability. Note any controversies that surround the evolutionary psychology view of this human mental trait, mental function, or mental ability. Conclude with your thoughts on the course, and on using the point of view of the science of evolution to study psychological topics, to study thinking, feeling, behaving, and learning.
