[SOLVED] The Coronavirus
First read Dr. Kate Brown, 2,100 word April 20, 2020 article in New Yorker What The Pandemic Is Not A Natural Disaster. Then re-write or modify the four pages I wrote, but in direct response to QUSTION below. OK to go longer (up to one more page, but not shorter and charge me if necessary). I have already written up four pages about what I would use from Kate Brown article to be able to respond to the obnoxious man at the party (below). However, but the professor wants me to put it into first person or more engaging third person. What I have written was not accepted by professor he says its more like a magazine article rather than response to assignment question. The response should be written as if this is what I would tell the obnoxious man but include introduction, initial summary, 3-4 main points, conclusion etc. QUESTIONS You are at a fun, responsible, social distanced party with friends, enjoying an ice cold beverage of your choice when a particularly loud, obnoxious individual approaches you, without a COVID19 mask on, and starts ranting, spit flying from his mouth, about how the novel coronavirus is natural, and that there is nothing we can do about, while you know that many people dying from COVID pandemic. He shouts, Coronavirus is nature’s (Earths) way of burning off the dead wood, he shouts at one point. Youve just read the following piece by the environmental historian Kate Brown: “The Coronavirus Pandemic Is Not A Natural Disaster” in New Yorker magazine. Please use what you understand and know from the 2,100 word magazine article to tell him that the Coronavirus is not a simply a natural disaster, and is a direct consequence of the stresses humans place on the environment, and much more. Please only use what you have learned from the article to tell him (4+ pages double space 12 font written) what you think, basing it on 3-4 main points that Kate Brown discusses in the article. Include an opening hook or lead, and brief initial outline There are three (or four) important factors of why the Pandemic Is not a Natural Disaster etc . . . ) and a conclusion with emphasis at end based on Kate Browns article ending statement: ‘ . . . SELF ISOLATION is key if we are to stop the pandemic and yet the need for isolation is, in itself, an acknowledgment of our deep integration with our surroundings. To full respond to what had happened we need to reflect on the worldwide ecological networks that bind all us together.
