Reflection Essay This assignment requires you to review elements of your learning about writing and revision throughout the semester. You have option of either writing this piece in essay format or compose an audio or video file where you speak directly to me. You can record thorugh the Canvas interface–it’s the green wreath next to the You Tube icon. This piece should be 700-800 words long (clips should be about 3 7 mins long) and address the following: Personal Introduction: Include a brief introduction, reflecting on how you have felt about your writing before this class and how you feel now. How did you come into class day one? Questions to consider: How did you feel composing the first paper? Assessment as a Writer: Questions to consider: 1 What challenges did you overcome this semester? 2 What were your most helpful or proudest moments in writing? 3 What do you still need to work on, and how might you do so in your next writing class? 4 What are the three most important insights/lessons you learned that have helped (or will help) you in writing scholarly essays in future courses? 5 Which three adjectives best describe your efforts this semester? 6 Which do you feel is your strongest essay? Please identify elements that support this claim and explain why it appears to you to represent your best work. (Be sure to be concretegive evidence and examples from your writing/paper itself). Unprecedented Semester: This semester is the first full semester influenced by COVID 19. Specifically, how did the external COVID 19 environment affect your semester? You can use this section to discuss Virtual Teaching methods and how you were affected by them in general and in my class. Conclusion and Going Forward: For the conclusion, assess how you will take these skills into your future, assessing when and where they will come in handy. For example, how do you plan to use these skills in other courses throughout college. What will you take from the COVID 19 experience long after it has ended.
