Overview Understanding the legal literature in sport provides application of law to the sport environment. As future managers, a better understanding of the law enables professionals to improve the workplace and participation environment, as well as minimize organizational liability. Instructions Select a case from week 1-2 text readings. Write a minimum FOUR page legal critique related to any legal issue in the sport environment. The selected case must be from those listed in the chapter readings to date or another case found that relates to the legal topics in corresponding readings for previous two weeks. Title page should contain full APA citation Summarize the background or facts of the case In question format, write 2-3 legal issues pertaining to this case Holding (courts final ruling) Rationale of the courts decision Significance of case in the sport environment Personal response or critical opinion of courts ruling and rationale Explain how knowledge of this case might assist you or your organization Notes: You may include pertinent cases to provide evidence of case precedence related to the topic.
