The program should be housed in the Division of Student Affairs and utilize the college student development theories, structures, and practices discussed during the course. When creating the new program, consider the following questions: · What services and programs best support this group of students? · Which student development theories are most relevant to this student group? · How does the program contribute to the development of students and how does it compliment the mission of the university? · How can learning outside of the classroom be maximized? · What structure will best facilitate your program? Should there be heavy academic affairs partnerships? Will the program utilize other student affairs resources? What other university constituencies should be included in the planning and execution of the program? · How will the program be assessed? Your term paper should answer the applicable questions above. Use your own insights, perspective, and academic philosophy to help shape and inform your proposed student affairs program.
