[SOLVED] International Human Resources
Discussion Background: Upsurges in globalization have resulted in an increased number of United States (U.S.) employees working overseas and more international workers employed in the U.S. As mentioned in the presentations this week, multinational employers operating in the U.S. or its territories regardless of where they are incorporated or where they are headquartered must follow anti-discrimination laws just as U.S. employers do. This is true unless the employer is covered by an international agreement that limits the application of U.S. anti-discrimination laws. Also, a firm must follow anti-discrimination laws for U.S. citizens it employs outside of the U.S. if the firm is based or incorporated in the U.S. or if a U.S. company controls it. However, U.S. anti-discrimination laws would not apply to non-U.S. citizens who work at a multinational firm outside the U.S. or its territories.Discussion Instructions A: Provide an initial response to all of the following:Identify a U.S. affiliated multinational company (MNC).a) Briefly describe what the MNC does?b) What is the MNCs mission? Which non-U.S. territories (countries) does the MNC operate in (employs workers in or hires workers from)?Identify AND describe two (2) employment/labor laws of a country with which the MNC operates, that differs from U.S. employment laws.Discuss how (what ways) the non-U.S. territorys (country) laws differ from U.S. employment/labor laws. Be specific.(Initial Post) Requirements: ALL of the items, including the subsections of each, must be answered for consideration. Also, keep in mind that graduate-level writing is required at all times. Thus, one or two-line responses without complete clarification of thought will not be accepted. A minimum of two complete paragraphs (no less than 6 full and cogent sentences per paragraph) is required. Bullet point responses are not acceptable. All sources must be cited. Again, all of the questions must be answered. Late responses will not be accepted. Also, you must cite your sources using APA, MLA, Chicago, etc. styles. Note: All initial posts must be made early enough to allow a peer to respond. Failure to give others reasonable opportunity to respond to your initial post will result in severe point deductions. So, please do not wait until the last minute to enter your initial post.
