Review the given historical documents and answer the three questions at the bottom of p. 577.  A couple hints: For #2, think about the ways this contract can be used to take advantage of the laborers based on the words in it and the circumstances surroundiong it. For #3, essentially you’re consodering differing ideas of the meaning of freedom between freed slaves and the white South, especially land-owners.  there is no specific length requirement to the posts or the responses. But you need to demonstrate that you have reviewed all the relevant information and have crafted a thoughtful argument.  -I will grade your total effort for each week’s discussion board, and assign a grade out of a possible 20 points.
