[SOLVED] Corporations and the Public Good
For your final essay of the semester, I’d like you to make use of the readings by Moss and LaPointe to engage with the following prompt: to what extent do the interests of large corporations conflict with the interests or well-being of individuals? Do the readings point to a need to rebalance the profit motive with a concern for the public good? Or do the products offered by food and drug companies justify maximum profit-seeking? While these two readings deal with very different subject matter, they both consider the question of how the profit-motive should be balanced with the well-being of the public, and thus making connections and engaging in synthesis between the two readings should be a priority.
