[SOLVED] Brain and Nervous System
You are required to write an academic report which demonstrates your understanding of the key aspects of the brain and the nervous system. Your report must include the two sections outlined below. SECTION ONE Explain the major structures and functions of the brain. Explain the differences between the central nervous system, the peripheral nervous system, and the two branches of the autonomic system. SECTION TWO Explain the differences between glial cells and neurons in terms of their structure and function. Explain the process of communication between neurons. Explain the role of neurotransmitters in relation to the behaviours they influence. GUIDANCE The report should be written using the recommended structure and format for an academic report as outlined in the unit 3 (Academic Writing Skills) study materials. Conclusions and recommendations must stem from your findings. Your report could contain appropriate images to support your commentary if you wish, but these must be placed in an appendix and referred to appropriately within the text of the report. If these images are taken from published sources they must be referenced accordingly. Relevant theory must be referenced where appropriate and you must provide a references list and bibliography. The report should be a maximum of 2,000 words. This word limit is the absolute maximum you are permitted. If you are over the word limit for this assignment in any way you will receive your assignment back without further comment or feedback.
