You will write the rough draft (first two pages and works cited page) of your research paper. In order to complete this, you first need to decide if you are going to turn your analytical paper 1 or analytical paper 2 into the research paper. You may wish to write on your first analytical paper, as you have already received feedback. I would select the paper (Analytical Paper 1 or 2) that you are more comfortable with and the paper which you can find secondary sources to support your ideas. Your secondary sources must come from the MGCCC databases. In order to locate your sources, you will have to login into the MGCCC databases from the college library page. Then, click find articles. After doing so, you can just key in your search terms and locate the pdf’s or full-texts of the articles. These databases will actually cite your sources for you; you will see a “Cite” button/link on the right-hand side of the page. In other words, all you have to do is to copy and paste that citation into your works cited page (when you copy your citation from the database, right-click using your mouse, and then, click keep text only when you paste that citation into your Word document. Instead, make sure you have 4-6 sentences in your introduction with your thesis as the last sentence of your introduction. Also, with regard to the sample paper, I have color-coded the citations, so you can see how the in-text citations match up with the works cited page. Whatever you put in the parenthetical citation must match the first word of that corresponding entry on the works cited page. The citation you see for the textbook actually refers to the old edition of our textbook, so you don’t want to copy that information, as it is outdated. Your word limit for your complete research paper is 1250-1750, excluding the works cited page. For the first two pages due Monday, you are expected to have two full pages of text complete, as well as your works cited page containing five sources.
