Social, Emotional, and Intellectual Research Paper ESOL D1S1 Rationale: Early Childhood Education emphasizes the development of the whole child: Social, Emotional and Intellectual (SEI). Some educators emphasize the intellectual domain, neglecting social and emotional development. Student learning is enhanced when teachers incorporate SEI into planning and implementation of curriculum. Description: The student will research how SEI are inextricably linked and how they affect the development of the whole child. Directions: 1. Write a 5-7 page research paper identifying these domains and indicate how social and emotional development impacts all other areas (physical/motor, cognitive, language and approaches to learning) of development. 2.
