Situational Factors and Culture

You come from a particular cultural perspective, regardless of where you are born.  My family is originally from an Appalachian region of the United States and there are specific cultural norms and expectations I was raised to believe.  Your experiences are similar, although they may have a different cultural perspective than do mine. In this discussion, please identify at least three (3) cultural expectations you have regarding purchase decisions or presents, or rituals, in which you or your family often take part. After you identify these expectations, reflect in your discussion about how you feel if these cultural expectations aren’t met during those social interactions.  How does that make you feel about the gift giver, or ritual attendee (think weddings, bat mitvahs, etc.)?  Identify what you expect in those situations vs. what you actually experience.
