Selective Perception
1. Selective perception is a big social concept found within the social studies surrounding race. Selective perception simply means people see what they want to see concerning a certain racial group. That is, people can ignore blatant proof and believe what they want. Why do you think people (may) have selective perception surrounding a given racial group? 2. Where do your perceptions of people outside of your racial group come from and how does that source influence your perceptions surrounding a racial group outside of your own?
