[Sample] The Hospital Documentary of Bellevue Inside Out
Bellevue Inside Out’ is a documentary that depicts events which occur in the Bellevue Hospital in New York. The health institution mainly attends to patients with Schizophrenia and bipolar disorders. The film presents the challenges that the hospital encounters in the attempt to contain and calm the sick persons. The institution tries its best to offer exemplary services to the patients, who nonetheless still respond with hostility-Most were tied down when being given medication and this situation annoyed them. Tying the patients was good not only for other people in the facility but also for them: Some of the patients could injure themselves. Thus, the caregivers would tie the sick down to protect them and anyone else within the facility.
I identified with the character of Cheryl in the film, due to the irony that surrounded her situation. Cheryl is funny and sarcastic in most instances on camera. She seems bothered about the apprehension and care at the mental institution. For instance, on one occasion, Cheryl was given a new pair of glasses to replace her current one (which had only one well-fitted lens in the frame). After the doctor proposes to offer her the new pair of glasses, she appears grateful yet panicky. Later, the character is seen with the new pair of glasses, this time resembling the initial ones that had only one whole lens. Cheryl, however, is not only comical and sarcastic through her actions but also her words. She once shouted at the camera that having a mental disease was suffering from pain. This personality made her conspicuous compared to many of the other patients.
I think that the Bellevue Hospital offered quality medical intervention to patients. Medical care at Bellevue Hospital was accommodative and extensive. The institution attempted to accommodate the stubborn psychiatric patients to the best of its ability. Bellevue hospital was determined to ensure patients received medication and were not a danger to others and themselves, thus unique in offering services. I also think that the medical services that Bellevue Hospital offered were extensive. Healthcare providers attempted to interact with the patients in order to understand how they could help them get better. The psychiatrists were concerned about the feelings and comfort of the patients regarding the treatment rendered.

However, I would suggest that the institution upgrades the quality of services offered to clients. The institution should find better ways to handle the patients so that they can recover as quickly as possible. These changes should not only be implemented in the Bellevue Hospital but also all through the entire mental health system. For instance, medical communities should work on hosting the patients and giving then adequate space and time for recovery. Many health institutions focusing on health recovery are concerned with offering group therapy to psychiatric patients neglecting the individual needs of the patients.

Nevertheless, my sentiments are that special care should be given to every patient separately. Also, various patients suffer from different psychiatric diseases. The patients also have diverse degrees in the mental disease states. The entire mental health system should narrow down its focus to individual clients so that they receive quality health services. The quality of medical services can also improve by overseeing a manageable size of psychiatric patients, which is possible through the construction of more medical institutions throughout the country.
