[Get Solution] Quantitative Methods
This thesis is about mobility/travel behavior, about respondents perception of shared electric scooters, which behavioral factors encourage/discourage them to use the shared e-scooters. In order to analyze this, the thesis is based on the Theory of Planned Behavior. I need to have the following sub-chapters part of the methodological chapter: 1. Research philosophy – What is research philosophy in social research (definition, classification), which ontological and epistemological approaches currently exist? For this thesis, I will use a positivist approach because of the current research aim and purpose – to confirm or reject hypotheses formed on the basis of the literature review. Please expand, you can start from this paper: “Guba, E. G., & Lincoln, Y. S. (1994). Competing paradigms in qualitative research” 2. Research strategy – What is a research strategy in general? Following the positivist ontological and epistemological approaches described above, which research strategy is the best, and why? I will use quantitative methods/survey as method so please expand on this. 3. Research methods – I will use online questionnaires in my thesis, please expand on this (advantages, comparison between online questionnaire and other types of questionnaires) – For the data analysis, the Structural Equation Modelling + Factor analysis. Confirmatory Factor analysis will be used so please mention something about it (Structural Equation Modelling is used in many applications of The Theory of Planned Behavior). What is Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural equation modelling? 4. Research validity and reliability – General information about validity and reliability as criteria in social research (definition of internal/external validity + reliability). How can we achieve a good level of reliability and validity by using online questionnaires? For instance, Cronbach alfa will be used as it is the most popular reliability test method for questionnaires.
