Principles of Psychology

Document your perspective on the role of nature (i.e., biology, innate predispositions) and nurture (i.e., environment, conditioning) in the development of personality and susceptibility to mental illness. Are you a proponent (supporter) of the biological viewpoint, learning viewpoint, or do you subscribe to an interactionists perspective (both)? For instance, there are different perspectives on etiologies of personality and psychopathology. Provide a thorough explanation of what you believe and why. Develop a well-thought out thesis explaining how you interpret this popular question.  In addition, document your viewpoint on if animals should be used in research. Document if you believe it is acceptable to conduct research with animals and be sure to substantiate your viewpoint. If you are an opponent of experimentation with nonhuman animals, support your stance. Develop well-thought out paragraphs that convey your stance on this sometimes, acrimonious debate.
