Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Disorder: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder You should aim to write three pages (750 words), divided up into four indented headings: Introduction, Etiology, Symptoms, and Treatment. In the Introduction section, you can briefly indicate the disorder you chose and why, and the specifics of what you will be exploring in the essay. In the Etiology section, include any research you found about the various causes of this disorder. These can include biological, genetic, or any of the psychological models from Chapter 2. It’s fine to focus your writing on just one or two of these perspectives. In the Symptoms section, you can refer to the textbook or DSM-V. Give a description of the essential criteria for diagnosis in your own words, paraphrasing from your source, and keeping direct quotations brief (i.e., don’t just copy all of the criteria into your paper). In the Treatment section, describe one or more of the current treatments available that have been demonstrated to work. Make sure you are basing these statements on a reliable source (see below). Include a reference page at the end of your essay. Make sure to use APA formatting for your citations and reference page. As we were unable to review this in class, give it your best shot. You’ll find some resources on the library’s “Psychology” page (see below). Make sure to include: Two academic sources with information that helps you complete the essay
