Obesity Trends in the US
The purpose of this assignment is to increase the students knowledge of obesity trends in the United States and discuss the relationship between occupational performance and the humanistic theory of change. In addition, students are required to apply knowledge of APA through a correctly formatted paper. ASSIGNMENT: Students are to research obesity in the United States and answer the questions below using APA format. A ?minimum? of three (?3)? references are required including American Occupational Therapy Associations Occupational Therapy Performance Framework (OTPF). Four (?4)? pages will be submitted. The first page is the ?title ?page, the second? and ?third? pages are the body or content, and the ?fourth? page is the reference?s ?page. Define obesity (include statistics, populations typically affected, and types of problems/diseases resulting from obesity). Using the OTPF, describe in detail ?TWO? areas of occupation that a client with obesity would most likely experience difficulty with. Use research to support your reasoning. Describe ?TWO? roles of occupational therapy when providing interventions for clients with obesity. Use research to support your discussion (i.e. role in education, adaptive equipment, energy conservation techniques, etc.).
