Final Paper: Morrison and Current Events Final draft (1500 words) Problem of writing about Song of Solomon: One of the main challenges of writing a paper about a novel like Song of Solomon is that so much has already been written about it, and half of that material is available online (and the worst material is the most readily available). Essentially, we will compose a paper connecting the novel Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison with current events. A general comparison will be too broad, of course, so we must focus on a particular aspect or theme and formulate an argument. For instance, you could write about racial discrimination, or violent reactions to racism, or even racism within the Black community. The topic is open but you have to use at least one additional outside source, but that could be something as simple as a newspaper article. Quotes from the novel are of course necessary and should be featured prominently in your paper.
