[ORDER SOLUTION] Integrative Approach Report
Through self-assessment and an autobiographical view, develop your own integrative approach to counseling. Describe your own helping approach along the following dimensions: basic philosophy, key concepts, therapeutic goals, therapeutic relationship, therapeutic techniques, and applications. 1. Self-assessment guidelines. Think about who you are now, your personality strengths and challenges, and what has influenced your values, attitudes, interests, and beliefs. How has your outlook on life influenced your decision to pursue the helping professions? You may use the following questions to facilitate your exploration: a) What significant events in your life have shaped who you are? For example, think about family history, family values and dynamics, work history, significant personal relationships, cultural events, etc.; it may help to draw a timeline. b) What have you learned about yourself from those events? c) What kinds of positive and negative messages have you received from yourself, family, friends, teachers, and other significant persons, and how did these messages influence your worldview? d) How have societal and cultural messages affected you? For example, the messages you have received about gender, age, race and ethnicity. e) Consider how your image of yourself affects the way you view human nature. How does your self-concept influence the way you think about the ways people can or cannot change? Feel free to describe additional or other areas that are not addressed in the above questions. 2.
