The Online Portfolio is an assignment to get you to start thinking about your future. When you are interviewing it is very likely that you will be asked about your strengths and weaknesses, and they will be expecting a detailed and concise response. Do not be vague and unclear with this important question! This assignment will help you put your thoughts in order and also provide you with the details that you need to impress your interviewer.
Inside the folder you will find some material on creating a great portfolio as well as examples of other portfolios. However, as with all assignments let the syllabus be your guide.
One thing that you will want to consider as you are setting up your web page is the ease of navigating that page. You will see from the shared examples that their pages are very easy to navigate and it information is easy to access. If you just create one long web page with links that jump around, this can create some confusion and make it difficult to find the information you are looking for. If someone from the HR department takes the time to go to your online portfolio, make it easy for them.
The one area where students normally lose the most points in on the reflection of their chosen competencies and providing proof/examples. The syllabus states your portfolio will include self-assessments based on your competencies. You will select four of the six areas of focus (Refer to CBE Profile of a Graduate) to highlight by providing supporting work such as projects, coursework, writing samples or letters of recommendation.”

UPDATE: I will allow you to only list 3 competencies if you include a S.W.O.T. Analysis in your online portfolio, the option is yours.
If you would like to select a strength or competency outside of that list, or be more specific, I will allow it. I will also allow you to be creative in selecting your supportive work, for example:
Communicate Properly and Effectively: An easy sample would be a PowerPoint that you did for a class or as part of your internship. Perhaps you have a YouTube video that you made for an organization that you are part of. A writing sample would also work great here.
Work Effectively Toward Achieving Common Goals within Diverse Teams: Were you the leader of a school organization or captain of a sports team? If so, is there a photo of an event or was there an article written in the school paper that demonstrates this.
Use Technology Effectively in Business Settings: Have your taken any special courses or is there a scan of a certificate that you could upload to demonstrate this competency?
