Write a paper of 750-1,000 words, addressing two family systems theory approaches and applying each to a case study. This assignment contains two parts. Part one: Bowen’s Approach Read the case study “An Example of Intergenerational Family Systems Therapy: Ann’s Family” in the textbook. Include the following in your paper: What are the basic goals of Bowen’s approach? In the case of Ann’s family, identify the primary goal. Identify one of the “triangles.” Is anyone in the case study struggling with differentiation of self? Part two: Minuchin’s Approach Read the case study “Example of Structural Family Therapy: Quest Family” in the textbook. Include the following in your paper: What are the basic goals of Minuchin’s approach? In the case of the Quest Family, identify the primary goal. Identify some of the spoken and unspoken rules of this family. Identify an example of an alignment and a coalition from this case study. Include a minimum of three scholarly resources, in addition to the textbook, in your paper. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required. This assignment uses a rubric.
