Facilities and Equipment
For this assignment, you will need to do a couple of things. First, talk to your AD, if you are currently coaching, and talk to them about the Athletics budget. If you aren’t currently coaching, contact a local school and ask the AD these questions. How is the money generated? How do they determine who gets what? Is there a rotation systems for purchasing new equipment and/or uniforms? What opportunities are there for generating extra money (i.e, fund-raisers, booster club)? With this information, write up a paragraph overview of what you learned. In addition to this, how do these findings affect how you would run your program? What if you needed/wanted extra things such as participating in a travel tournament? Finally, discuss your experiences with purchasing, ordering, acquiring items for your team in the past. How has this experience helped you, if it has?
