The Legislative Branch: Senators and Representatives Research a member of the U.S. Congress, preferably a Senator or Representative from your state or district. For the purposes of this assignment, choose a Senator or Representative who has served at least two terms, or is currently serving a second term. Briefly explain the following information about his or her role in government: 1. Research the selected legislators congressional performance and briefly describe information such as attendance in congressional sessions, voting history, bills sponsored or proposed, committee membership, and frequency of committee meetings. What is your perception of how effectively this person performs the expected congressional duties and responsibilities? 2. Describe your legislators time spent campaigning and fundraising. Include information such as how many fundraisers attended in the last year, what type of fundraisers attended, the cost of the last election campaign, sources of campaign funds, and any additional pertinent information.
