Throughout the years, Americans have been cautioned to eat fewer eggs and other high-cholesterol foods out of concern that dietary cholesterol may be bad for the heart. However, the January 2016 release of the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans has dropped the decades-old cholesterol limit, stating “The Key Recommendation from the 2010 Dietary Guidelines to limit consumption of dietary cholesterol to 300 mg per day is not included in the 2015 edition.” Their reasoning?
