[ORDER SOLUTION] Descent of the Goddess Ishtar into the Lower World
These are three-page to four-page (3-4 pages), uniformly double-spaced papers (minimum of 900 words each). Each paper must be a minimum of three full pages, and this requirement will be enforced strictly. You may choose to offer a reader-response to the required readings. A response to a text or texts is not a “book report”; Your paper should be original, thesis-driven, and analytical. Identify an issue or issues raised by your reading of the material, and let your choices in this regard inform your writing. Choose specific passages from the text/texts you are working with, and analyze their significance regarding a thesis/argument you have posed in the introduction of your paper. Alternately, you may choose to write a response to issues raised during class discussion, whether in the Teams virtual class sessions or on the discussion board in Canvas. A successful paper utilizing this option will make an original contribution to the discussion, not just report on what happened in class or on the Canvas discussion board. Again, cite and analyze specific passages from the text/texts as related to a thesis/argument you have outlined in your introduction. I want to encourage you to make appropriate original analytic connections between our course material, other literature you have read, and/or elements of contemporary popular culture (e.g., television, cinema, music), as I will be making such connections throughout the semester. Use of secondary sources–critical/biographical/historical material–is not required for either option. If secondary texts are consulted, all rules for appropriate use and acknowledgment of such materials apply. Keep in mind thatamong other thingstwo of your goals herein are to demonstrate to my satisfaction that you have read the required course material, and that the work submitted is your work.
