Curriculum Design For Health Professions Education

Rationale & Objective   In designing a sound and effective curriculum, it is important to understand what a curriculum is as well as what curricula might look like in health professions education. The objective of Assignment #1 is to identify an existing curriculum in health professions education and develop a statement that describes this curriculum.   Expectations & Guidelines    In developing a statement that describes the curriculum you chose, you can draw on your own experiences as a learner, educator, or prospective educator in the health professions. Your statement should include the type of educational experience (e.g., course, clerkship, or program) as well as the purpose and rationale for the curriculum. You should include concrete examples in your description.   Instructions:   Identify a curriculum in health professions education. Describe this curriculum (e.g., What is the purpose of the curriculum? Who is it designed for? What is included in it? Why was it developed?). You should include concrete examples in your description. Your statement should be a maximum of 1000 words double-spaced, excluding references. Include references as needed. Ensure that your in-text citations and reference list conform to the standards put forward in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA 7th edition).
