Cultural Patrimony
Throughout the semester, we have brought in contemporary materials articles, videos, and discussions of current events. You will be doing the exploitation of cultural patrimony of the Ancient Near East. Indeed, in the last few months, we have witnessed how the role of narratives and the reconceptualization of narratives have been playing out on the streets of our country. Our topics have been broad and wide-ranging. Thus, this assignment is meant to be broadly reflective. what connections between past and present has struck you most in this class? how will you take that connection and implement it into your thinking, your actions, your engagement as active members in today’s society? while I expect you to submit an essay of 250-500 words, some of you may prefer to write a poem, create song lyrics, sketch a picture, put together a group of photographs. the only hard-fast rule is that you must reference one of the contemporary sources with which you’ve been provided and one monument from the class. Those must serve as the springboard for your reflection.
