Cost of Courage Reflection

Students will read The Costs of Courage chapters – 3,5,7 & 8 and write a 2 page, typewritten reaction paper discussing what they learned about the special needs of the veteran population.  Students should include:1) new knowledge they acquired about combat stress using new vocabulary and terms discussed in the book, 2) the specific concerns they have for this population and their families and 3) ways a social worker may be of assistance to this population.  Lastly, students should close with a discussion about whether or not they have a personal interest in this type of work (why or why not).
