[Get Solution] Corrections Department
Unit IVScholarlyActivity For this assignment, you will apply the unit lesson information to your own states department of corrections. You will use the textbook and any outside academic sources you choose. CRJ 2200, Theory and Practices of Corrections 2 Explore your states department of corrections at Corrections Departments by State, and find statistics for your state (this is necessary for Part 2). If you are currently outside the United States, then select a state in the United States that you would like to use. Be sure to answer the questions listed below. How many facilities are in the state? What security levels are present? Are there any special facilities (such as for women)? Are there any other facts you would like to add from the website? After completing your research, complete the assignment in two parts according to specifications below. Part 1 (one page) Explain the differences between jails and prisons using your chapter reading, as well as the unit lesson. Focus on differences in both purpose and function. Part 2 (two pages) Present the facts about your states Department of Corrections that you found on the website listed earlier. Find a jail and three prisons from your state (one from each security level). Discuss the four facilities, giving information on the population, location, and other information that you learned from the website. Hint: On most of the websites, each facility has its own page linked from the main state page. You may also find a fact sheet on the main page. This assignment must be at least three pages in length (Part 1 and Part 2). You must include a cover page and reference page (title and reference pages do not count toward the minimum page requirement). You must include one other academic source and the required website that you used to retrieve the required information. The Waldorf Online Library provides many academic source options. Submit both parts (Part 1 and Part 2) together in one document.
