Identify the impact of a real-world ecological and environmental disaster. Identify the potential for a similar disaster in the United States, or elsewhere in the world, based on current practices. You must indicate on your assignment whether you watched the documentary or not. Who was responsible? What were the environmental and ecological impacts as a result of the original problem? How many species of fish and birds were lost? What are the impacts on soil and water? David Suzuki says near the end of the documentary that the Aral Sea tragedy is a disaster only “slightly ahead of its time.” What do you think he meant by this?
