The RN to BSN program at Grand Canyon University meets the requirements for clinical competencies as defined by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), using nontraditional experiences for practicing nurses. These experiences come in the form of direct and indirect care experiences in which licensed nursing students engage in learning within the context of their hospital organization, specific care discipline, and local communities.This assignment consists of both an interview and a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation.Assessment/InterviewSelect a community of interest in your region. InstructionsConsider the following scenario:A fifth-grade teacher has 23 students in their class. It’s January, and the students will be returning from the winter break. At the start of the year, the teacher worked with the class to develop a set of public agreements. Through a consensus-building process, the group voted to accept three class rules:We will be friendly to everyone.We will do our best work.We will take care of our classroom.The teacher printed a large poster with the rules on it, and all of the students signed the poster to show their agreement to follow the rules. The teacher felt confident all of the students understood what it looked like, sounded like, and felt like to follow the classroom rules.
