How important are factors such as age, education, race, ethnicity, social class, gender, and religion in your choice of someone for a serious relationship?  To what extent are (were) you conscious of such influences when you pick (picked) someone to date? I am of the Gen X generation. I am very conscious of these influences. It is important to me that I seriously date someone closer to my age because we may share more in common, for instance, music, we may be more aligned in the same social class.
