What effect do you feel social networking has on a person’s self esteem? For example, “Does it make the user feel better or worse? Why?” (list one or two specific networks in your entry) Do we portray ourselves the same way online as we do in “real time?” or do we try to portray something else? Give at least one example. Cross-sectional Data
Please provide a thorough response to each of the following questions. Please write in complete sentences and submit your responses as a Word document or PDF. Your question should be original please do not use one that has already been used in the textbook or in class. 2.Think more about the research question you have posed. Explain and justify your responses. 3.What kind of research would be needed to answer the research question you posed abovedescriptive, exploratory, explanatory, evaluative, or some combination of these? Explain why. 4.Do you think that your research question could be answered using cross-sectional data? Or would it require longitudinal data? Explain your answer. 5.What would be the unit of analysis for a study designed to answer your research question? How does this choice of the unit of analysis limit the conclusions that could be drawn from the study? Expectation: In order to thoroughly and adequately respond to these questions, I anticipate that the completed assignment should be about 1-2 pages double-spaced. Written assignments are worth 20% of your final grade, and this is the first of three assignments. Each assignment will count for 10% and your lowest assignment grade will be dropped at the end of the semester. A well-done assignment will feature clearly written, justified, and thorough answers that demonstrate an understanding of material covered in readings, lectures, discussions, and in-class activities. Grammatical and spelling errors take away from the clarity of your writing so please proofread your responses before submitting them. All work must be original and in accordance with academic integrity standards. If you quote or paraphrase from work that is not your own, you must clearly cite and acknowledge that work using any standard reference format (MLA, Chicago, etc.).
Participant Selection

Instructions: Consider a particular topic (this can be the topic from one of your previous discussions or assignments), and a particular qualitative or quantitative research design and state the factors you would consider in choosing participants for the study. Be sure to answer the following in your discussion: What sampling method would you use? How would you go about deciding how many participants to select given a particular methodology? What factors should be considered regarding sample size, representativeness, and apparent biases in the selection of the sample? Your post should be at least 300 words.
