Sexual Tolerance
People in the United States vary widely in their acceptance of the sexual and gender choices and orientations. The impact of those with views of lesser acceptance is felt the hardest by the most vulnerable among us- our children. Watch the following video of a Ft. Worth City Councilman speaking about his experiences as a young man marginalized based on his sexual orientation and consider the impact such a message would have on a young person in a similar situation and on an adult who is intolerant of the LGBTQ community. Joel Burns: It Gets Better https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ax96cghOnY4 (transcript located on YouTube site) Compare and contrast what you believe the experiences of these two individuals (the insecure LGBTQ youth and the intolerant adult) viewing this message would be. How might it reinforce existing beliefs about themselves or motivate them to see themselves and/or the world differently? What additional information would you propose to share with either or both of these individuals to persuade them into such a paradigm shift? Write a 5-paragraph essay that includes each of the elements listed below in the grading rubric. Be sure to use at least 2 references to support your essay. Your paper must meet the minimum 750-word count requirements.
Stigma
Do single mothers of autistic children afraid to seek treatment for their mental health because of the community stigma. Complete below 1- Stated hyphothesis: state the hypotheses and/or research questionsthat will be pursued in the dissertation.?Provide justification for each.Typically, justification for each hypothesis or research question can take anywhere between one to three paragraphs. ?This section provides a bridge between the literature review and the Method section 2MethodDesign Statement: In a short paragraph, describe the design of the study, including dependent and independent variables, if applicable. If multiple frameworks/designs (e.g., different qualitative approaches) for your study exist, provide a rationale foryour choice.Participants:Describe the sample, including approximate sample size and significant characteristics.Discuss sample size considerations appropriate for your design. For example, if you are conducting a study that useshierarchical linear regression, include a power analysis (e.g., what is the estimated effect in the population and how many participants do you need to identify this effect?). If, on the other hand, you are conducting a qualitative study, discuss whether there are sample size considerations for your particular methodology (e.g.,saturation in grounded theory) and epistemology (e.g., post-positivism, constructivism, etc.). Your research advisor can help you navigate these distinctions.Measures:For quantitative studies, describe the conceptual and operational measures used in the study and your rationale for each instrument, including a discussion of advantages and disadvantages. Reliability and validity should be discussed, as well as the appropriateness and acceptability of all measures. Refer to relevant studies in the literature. If the proposal includes the development of a new measure or new items to tap various constructs, procedures for that development should be described in detail. Please note that for every measure, you will be expected to conduct analysis of internal consistency/reliability. For qualitative studies, at a minimum, describe the data which will serve as the basis for analyses (e.g., participant interviews, journal entries, etc.). Depending on your particular methodology and epistemology, you may also need to discussissues of trustworthiness and credibility of the data. All measures/interview protocols should be attached in Appendices to the proposal.Besure to seek permission to use measures that are not in the public domain, as the NMSU IRB will require that you provide proof that you are allowed to use the measures in your study.Procedures: Describe how the study will be done, namely, the exact sequence of events. Enough detail should be provided so that another investigator could replicate the studyand, perhaps more importantly, so that your dissertation committee can evaluate the feasibility of the dissertation. Describe method for selecting sample, any criteria for participation, the method of selection (randomization, volunteer, etc.), and if appropriate, minimum acceptable response rate. Include a discussion of how you will recruit participants and other important procedures (e.g.,how you will conduct treatments, how you will do manipulation checks, etc.). Data Analysis: The hypotheses and/or research questions should be copied from prior sections and the specificanalysis for each should be detailed. Indicate the methods to be utilized and show howthe proposed analysis is consistent with the objectives, hypotheses, type of data, design, sampling, etc.?Note: The Data Analysis section later becomes its own chapter (Results)
Sampling Procedure
As the marketing director for a large retailer, you have been given the task of understanding why consumer demand has decreased dramatically for one of the companys store-brand signature products. To understand this outcome, you will need to gather information from consumers and store employees. Once the data has been collected, you will analyze it and submit a report to the executive leadership team. Your paper should answer the original question and include a recommendation for resolving the problem based on your study’s findings. You may choose a company or create a fictional one that can be used throughout this course. One of the key concepts of research is called sampling. Sampling uses a small part of a population to discover and describe characteristics of the whole population. You will design a sampling procedure that will meet the requirements of rigor for sample selection. Provide a brief description of the name of the company and its signature products. Include a research question(s) that represents the need described in the scenario. Create a list of 30 fictional names. Select fictional people to participate in your practice study described in the scenario above. The final sample needs to include at least 6 names from your list. Write a description of the sampling procedure that you employed and the outcomes of it. In other words, how did you go about selecting the 6 names? Please include a description of the group composition (for example: number of males and females). Include how you would gather and analyze information, answer your research question(s), and present your findings to the executive leadership team. At least two references are required. APA formatting is required (i.e., title page, margins, references page, etc.).
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
My Experience with Mental Illness. In this paper, you should describe someone you know well (yourself, a family member, a friend) who has suffered from mental illness (obsessive-compulsive disorder). What do you think are the causes of the persons mental illness? How much do you think the persons mental illness resulted from biological factors (genes, brain chemistry), and how much do you think it resulted from the persons environment (e.g., parental rearing, life stresses, a terrible loss such as a death in the family or the breakup of a relationship). Did the person receive counseling or therapy? Was it effective? Relate your account to research on mental illness and its treatment.

Interpersonal communication for Professionals
You have been working with your project group for the last few weeks. During this time, you have had three meetings, and at each one, Corey has either come late or left early. Even when Corey is at the meeting, it seems that Coreys mind is elsewhere. Everyones input on the project is needed, and you are concerned that his lack of participation and preparation is affecting the group outcome. You know that Corey is a smart guy and performed well when you happened to work with him on another team project last year in a marketing class. But something is different now different about him, and different about how he interacts with others. He is not violent, but he is also not as easygoing as he used to be. You are not sure how to approach this situation. What is your immediate reaction to the scenario? How would you feel if you were a member of the team writing about this situation? How could this situation have been avoided? What approaches to resolving this conflict are appropriate? What are some things that, if done, would make this approach successful? What are some things to avoid when attempting to resolve this conflict? Why? Please use one of the reference listed: de Janasz, S., Dowd, K., & Schneider, B. (2018). (Each distinct argument should have its own distinct paragraph.) Section III – present the case for the opposite view and raise possible objections to the points raised in Section II. Section IV – respond directly to the points raised in Section III. Section V – Summarize, evaluate, and reaffirm the position stated in Section I. Reference Section – must be in APA format. Paper should be 3-5 pages in length and include 3 journal articles (from the research database or magazine database): 2 articles that support your position & 1 journal article that opposes your position.
