Qualitative Research Article
This week, you will submit the annotation of a qualitative research article on a topic of your interest. Narrative, ethnographic, grounded theory, case study, and phenomenology are examples of types of research designs or approaches used in qualitative research. An annotation consists of three separate paragraphs that cover three respective components: summary, analysis, and application. These three components convey the relevance and value of the source. As such, an annotation demonstrates your critical thinking about, and authority on, the source topic. TAn annotated bibliography is a document containing selected sources accompanied by a respective annotation of each source. In preparation for your own future research, an annotated bibliography provides a background for understanding a portion of the existing literature on a particular topic. It is also a useful first step in gathering sources in preparation for writing a subsequent literature review as part of a dissertation. Please review the assignment instructions below and click on the underlined words for information about how to craft each component of an annotation.Use the Walden library database to search for a qualitative research article from a peer-reviewed journal on a topic of your interest. Before you read the full article and begin your annotation, locate the methodology section in the article to be sure that the article describes a qualitative study. Confirm that one of the types of qualitative research designs or approaches, such as narrative, ethnographic, grounded theory, case study, or phenomenology, was used in the study.Annotate one qualitative research article from a peer-reviewed journal on a topic of your interest.Provide the reference list entry for this article in APA Style followed by a three-paragraph annotation that includes:A summaryAn analysisAn application as illustrated in this exampleFormat your annotation in Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced. A separate Reference list page is not needed for this assignment.
Psychology Discussion
Imagine meeting four separate individuals who have each sustained an injury to a different area of the brain. Person A has irreversible damage to her frontal lobe. Person B has irreversible damage to his parietal lobe. Person C has irreversible damage to her temporal lobe, and person D as irreversible damage to his occipital lobe. Briefly, what would be the effects of each of these injuries? Talk about each person specifically, indicating what functions are mediated by these brain areas. Include information on brain and neuron function generally.
Theoretical Likes And Dislikes
Given the many developmental theories that exist, you are likely to find some more appealing and plausible than others. For any two theories in Chapter 1, list the concepts and principles you find important and those you believe to be inadequate or incorrect and explain why.
Social Workers
The center point of research studies is the body of data collected to answer the research question. These data must be measured, which is the act of taking an abstract concept (e.g., depression, anger, etc.), sorting them out and quantifying them in some cohesive way in order to construct meaningbut how can you measure something that is not easily quantifiable?Choosing an appropriate measurement tool requires consideration of a number of different issues including reliability, validity, appropriateness for use with a specific group or culture, availability, and potential cost. Sometimes, social workers will attempt to create their own set of questions to tap into or measure a concept. This may appear to be an easy thing to do; however, writing questions to measure a phenomenon is more challenging than it would seem. For example, how do we know it measures what we want it to measure? In the first discussion this week, you will have the opportunity to create your own questions to measure a phenomenon of your interest. In the second discussion, you will compare the measure you created with an existing instrument that measures the same phenomenon. To prepare: Choose one phenomenon or issue that a client may be dealing with (for example, depression, anxiety, or family conflict). Consider how you would evaluate the clients progress in this area. Create questions with response options that would capture this phenomenon or client issue.PostIdentify the phenomenon you would measure and explain how you conceptualize this phenomenon.Provide at least 3 questions you would use to measure this phenomenon and explain how these questions operationalize the phenomenon.Define reliability in 2-3 sentences and give one example of how you would establish reliability for the questions you created.Define validity in 2-3 sentences and give one example of how you would establish validity for the questions you created.Create a measurement plan to assess the phenomenon.Describe the methodology you would use to collect data using your measurement tool (your method for acquiring this research data).Explain the advantages and disadvantages of your choices.
Cultures Perspective
Post a Discussion that compares your culture’s perspective on aging to the perspectives of the two cultures you researched. Explain why you think these differences exist. Also, explain how different perspectives on aging might impact social work practice.
